EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 10: It may sound bizarre but it is fact that over a dozen Educational Zones in Jammu region have been running without sanctioned staff and in order to run administrative work, the teachers have been attached in these zones for the last over two decades but Director School Education (DSE) Jammu seems to be least bothered to resolve this decades long issue so that teacher may able to perform their prime duty of teaching for which they were appointed.
Sources told Early Times that around two decades ago the erstwhile State Government of Jammu and Kashmir had created forty four new Educational Zones in J&K in which seventeen educational zones were created in Jammu region.
“The new zones which were created including Bhaddu, Mahanpur, Marheen, Lakhanpur and Sallan in Kathua district, Ramgrah in Samba district, Chinkah and Chassana in Reasi, Nagseni and Drabshalla in Kishtwar district, Gandhi Nag

They further said that the with the casual approach of the previous governments including the concerned elected representatives of these areas, Education Ministers, concerned Secretaries, the above mention posts could not be sanctioned till date for smooth functioning of Education Department as a result administrative work in these zones is being carried out through attachments of teachers and others despite the fact that the prime duty of a teacher is to teach children in schools and not to perform other duties in offices as a clerk.
