Covid-19: Highest ever fresh positive cases reach to 164, and 68 deaths including 50 so far in Baramulla district of north Kashmir

BARAMULLA, July 19: In order to contain the further spread of Covid-19, lockdown has been extended for two more days in Baramulla, while as out of 701 fresh positive case in the UT of J&K, there was highest ever fresh positive cases that reaches to 164 since outbreak of Covid-19, while 65 also recovered and among 68 deaths 50 are from Baramulla district that have occurred so far in north Kashmir.
According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 19, 2020 (Sunday), in Baramulla district, 53 fresh positive cases including 04 traveler and 49 others that were reported today, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 1580, active positive cases stands at 634, and cumulative recovered cases are 896 including 48 recoveries of today, while as 50 deaths have occurred so far in this north Kashmir district.
In Kupwara district, 84 fresh positive cases including 05 travelers and 79 others were reported today, while 360 are active positive cases as on date and cumulative stands at 917 and cumulative recovered are 544 including 11 of today and 13 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, 27 fresh positive cases were reported today, whereas 455 are cumulative cases, 115 are active positive, 335 are cumulative recovered including 06 recoveries as on date and 5 deaths have occurred so far.
However reports said that strict restrictions are still in place in all the three districts of north Kashmir, and there was no movement of public transport from anywhere across north Kashmir.
Meanwhile, lockdown in this north Kashmir district has been extended for two more days. As a precautionary measure to minimize the spread of COVID-19 positive cases in the district, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo has extended the lockdown for 2 more days up to 21st of July, 2020.
Earlier, a complete lockdown for 3 days with effect from 17 July, 2020 was imposed by district administration after a sharp rise of COVID-19 cases have been reported from past few days and that too from outside of containment/buffer zones.
According to the order issued from the DC office, restrictions in terms of Section 144 CrPC and Section 34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005 have been imposed in the whole district wherein all shops and business establishments shall remain closed.
There will also be complete restriction on the movement of public traffic and only private vehicles with valid movement passes shall be allowed to move.
The order also mandates SSPs of Baramulla/Sopore, SDMs, Tehsildars, Naib-Tehsildars, SDPOs, SHOs and other duty magistrates to ensure strict implementation of restrictions
