Imran Khan’s plan to annex PoK with Pakistan foiled
Its PoK PM vs Imran Khan now!
7/20/2020 12:09:29 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

SRINAGAR, July 19: The Government in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) has reportedly sabotaged Prime Minister Imran Khan’s plan to integrate the disputed region with Pakistan.
According to the handout released by the PoK Prime Minister’s press secretary, the cabinet of PoK Government has rejected the crucial amendment in its constitution piloted by the Law and Kashmir affairs Ministries of Federal Government (Pakistani Government).
“The draft for amending the constitution of (so-called) Azad Jammu and Kashmir received from Ministry of law and Kashmir affairs was discussed in detail on 15 July in Cabinet Committee room at Muzaffarabad in Prime Minister’s secretariat,”’ reads the press statement.
According to press statement, the Pok Cabinet has conveyed to Pakistan that amendments can be brought under Article 257 of the constitution only after consulting the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
“In the given situation particularly at a time when GoI had abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir for bringing a demographic change we (cabinet) are of the opinin that Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government must be strengthened and vested with more powers,” reads the press statement.
By mentioning the abrogation of Article 370 and strengthening of PoK Government, the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Hyder Khan has cleverly conveyed to world community in general and India in particular that Imran Khan government in Pakistan was trying to take away whatever little autonomy the local government in Muzaffarabad enjoys.
The press statement released by PoK Prime Minister also reveals the fact that PoK Government has picked up serious confrontation with the Pakistani establishment. Sources revealed to Early Times that this issue was also one of the reasons for Separatist Leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s resignation. They also revealed that Imran Khan government was planning to annex Pakistan Occupied Kashmir with Punjab and declare Gilgit-Baltistan a separate state, however, Kashmiris living across the border continue to resist all such plans.
It is important to mention here that after the abrogation of Article 370 on 5th August last year, the Modi Government has openly expressed willingness to completely integrate Pakistan Occupied Kashmir with India.
Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin is an integral and inseparable part of Jammu and Kashmir and India, said Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha on 6th of August in 2019.
"Whenever I talk about Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin comes under it and can die for it," Shah snapped back at Leader of Congress party Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary.
Shah's retort came following Congress MP said: "I don't think you are thinking about PoK, you violated all rules and converted a state into a Union Territory overnight."
This year in the month of January, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane said that the force will definitely take appropriate action of reclaiming Pakistan Occupied Kashmir if it is given an order for it.
“If the Parliament wants that the territory (PoK) should be ours and if there are orders in this regard, then we will definitely act upon it,” Naravane has told media during a press briefing.
