Protest against Kavinder at Gorkha Nagar is result of BJP’s dirty power tussle
7/20/2020 12:11:01 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 19: Ongoing power tussle within disciplined BJP today exposed on the streets when former Deputy Chief Minister and ex-Speaker, Kavinder Gupta faced anger of a section of people at Gorkha Nagar area.
Gupta, who is ex-MLA of Gandhi Nagar assembly segment under which Gorkha Nagar falls, has gone to inaugurate Ram Leela complex but some local people along with sitting Corporator of the Gorkha Nagar ward held a protest against Gupta for inaugurating the complex.
Although the Corporator had won election as Independent candidate, he publically stated that they have no objection if the complex is inaugurated by the Mayor of the Jammu Municipal Corporation. The Corporator had objection over Kavinder Gupta inaugurating the complex.
Credible sources within BJP said that Corporators of the party were against former ministers who have been laying foundation stones or inaugurating various developmental projects. “All corporators of the BJP donot want that former ministers or MLAs of their party would lay foundation stone or inaugurate any developmental project in their respective wards”, sources said and added that instead of directly confronting their party’s ex-ministers or former legislators, BJP corporators have reportedly assigned this job to the corporators of opposition parties or Independent.
Credible sources said that a group of BJP leaders- who have hijacked the party, have given their nod to the plan of party’s corporators to oppose former ministers and ex-MLAs in inaugurating the projects. This group, sources said, wanted to sideline all senior leaders especially former MLAs and ex-ministers to tighten its group on all affairs of the party. This group doesn’t want any senior leader to get popularity so this group is using corporators to demonize ex-MLAs and former ministers.
