Jammu film artists avoid COVID test, enjoy shooting at Surankote

Surankote, July 27: 5 days later even since some of Jammu artists having escaped from their residences under containment and red zones in Jammu reached Surankote defying COVID 19 test for film shootings are still not traceable by the authorities.
Though official authorities at Surankot have confirmed about their presence at Surankote who had jumped Nakka for COVID 19 test on July 22, yet they are unable to trace them so far for appropriate action under law.
People at Surankote fear that such elements that have come from containment and red zones of Jammu could be potential carriers of deadly Coronavirus as they had managed to give skip to authorities for COVID 19 test as required under the Standing Operation Procedure(SoP).
It is in place to mention that some artists had uploaded their shooting pictures on social media through their respective links, but later removed the same that confirms about their film shootings in hiding. However, this reporter has secured some of such uploads for ready reference for authorities.
Bharatiya Janata Party UT president Ravinder Raina, whose constituency is Nowshera and has recently tested negative second time in COVID 19 test termed it as a gross violation by a handful few who can spread infection far and wide. The news story appeared in July 26 edition was sent to him and he has assured of fast action against the violators.
Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Magistrate Salim Qureshi of Surankote who had responded to take immediate action against absconders under National Disaster Act and with appropriate action under law remained engaged in an important meeting held by District Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav could not be contacted for today’s update.
After all such mess was created, it is now left to be understood that what course of action would be taken against such acts of deliberate attempt done by artists. What action would Surankote authorities initiate and whether these people will be allowed back to travel to Jammu under the flout of pandemic norms.
