J&K EPF employees allege stagnation, stage protest
10/6/2020 10:20:10 PM

EARly times Report-

JAMMU, Oct 5: The employees of J&K Employees Provident Fund Organisation staged protest demonstration here today.
They allege stagnation in the Organisation and are demanding early conduct of DPC of all cadre. These employees who are on indefinite strike since October 1, demanded intervention of the Lt Governor of J&K UT into the matter.
These striking employees pointed out that they have been working with dedication putting their best efforts for smooth functioning of the organisation but they have been ignored on account of promotions inspite of the fact that several posts were lying vacant. It is astonishing to note that last DPC was held during April 2017 and there after no such initiative was taken.
They further pointed out that the Insitu promotions to the next higher standard pay scale in respect of some Junior Assistants have not been granted despite completion of more than 18 years of service on the same posts of Junior Assistants.
They said various representations have been sent regarding the merger of J&K EPFO staff into Central EPFO but the matter is being delayed for the reason best known to the authorities at the helm of affairs. The employees said that their indefinite strike will be continued till their demands are addressed by the authorities concerned.
