With 1706 fresh recoveries COVID-19 recovery rate in JK reaches 81%, 738 new cases come up

SRINAGAR, Oct 6: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir crossed 80 percent and reached 81.38 percent as 1706 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The union territory reported 738 new cases of virus with 16 fresh deaths. Total number of positive cases is 80,476 and the total casualties are 1268.
Srinagar district reported 183 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 91 cases, Pulwama district 55 cases, Budgam district 46 cases, Kupwara district 42 cases, Baramulla district 37 cases, Kishtwar district 31 cases, Bandipora district 30 cases, Samba district 29 cases, Reasi district 28 cases, Rajouri district 27 cases, Doda district 26 cases, Anantnag district 22 cases, Ganderbal district 20 cases, Kathua district 18 cases, Udhampur and Ramban districts 14 cases each, Poonch district 12 cases, Shopian district nine cases and Kulgam district four cases.
Srinagar district reported four fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by three deaths in Jammu and two each in Anantnag and Kathua districts. A death each was reported in Kupwara, Ganderbal, Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda districts. So far 873 Corona Virus deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley and in Jammu division the number of such deaths are 395.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 738 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 290 from Jammu division and 448 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 80,476. Also 16 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; eight from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,706 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,145 from Jammu Division and 561 from Kashmir Division. Out of 80,476 positive cases, 13712 are active positive, 65,496 have recovered and 1,268 have died; 395 in Jammu division and 873 in Kashmir division.
Out of 17, 41,300 test results available, 16, 60,824 samples have tested as negative till date. Till date 5, 98,659 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 25,624 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 13,712 in isolation and 47,457 under home surveillance. Besides, 5, 10,598 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 15,835 positive cases, 1,748 active positive, 13,780 recovered, 307 deaths; Budgam has 5,160 positive cases, 773 active positive, 4,299 recovered, 88 deaths; Baramulla has 4,640 positive cases, 1,373 active positive, 3,142 recovered, 125 deaths; Pulwama has 4,122 positive cases, 376 active positive, 3,676 recovered, 70 deaths; Kupwara has 3,794 positive cases, 703 active Positive, 3,022 recovered, 69 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,666 positive cases, 467 active positive, 3,130 recovered, 69 deaths; Bandipora has 3,613 positive cases, 425 active positive, 3,148 recovered, 40 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,029 positive cases, 240 active positive, 2,759 recovered, 30 deaths; Kulgam has 2,305 positive cases, 97 active positive, 2,165 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,063 positive cases, 158 active positive, 1,873 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 14,778 positive cases, 2,808 active positive, 11,764 recovered, 206 deaths; Rajouri has 2,851 positive cases, 503 active positive, 2311 recovered, 37 deaths; Udhampur has 2,416 positive cases, 378 active positive, 2,017 recovered, 21 deaths; Doda has 2,337 positive cases, 911 active positive, 1,390 recovered, 36 deaths; Kathua has 2,165 positive cases, 231 active positive, 1,906 recovered, 28 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,896 positive cases, 869 active positive, 1,010 recovered, 17 deaths; Samba has 1,893 positive cases, 550 active positive, 1,321 recovered, 22 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,435 positive cases, 647 active positive, 777 recovered, 11 deaths; Ramban has 1,412 positive cases, 135 active positive, 1266 recovered, 11 deaths and Reasi has 1,066 positive cases, 320 active positive, 740 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 80,476 positive cases in J&K, 9,003 have been reported as travelers,
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
