10/6/2020 11:34:35 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 6: A senior politician from Kashmir has come under scanner for the alleged theft of government property in the form of rare artifacts and that he is likely to be booked for the same.
Sources said the senior politician who lives in Srinagar has come under scanner for having unlawfully taken home some rare government property when he was in power.
Sources said the politician had alleged taken the government property to his home for the decoration of his new house which he had got built over a decade ago.
It was reliably learnt that the said neta has got feelers that he could land in trouble and that if the case gets registered he would be booked for “theft.”
Sources said some complaints have poured in that rare artifacts have been missing from a particular government office. “There are complaints that the rare artifacts have gone missing while some say that the same were taken home by him.
Things are very unclear at the moment, so there’s a likelihood that a probe may be called,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
He said the probe could be ordered only when the government gets authentic evidence that the artifacts were missing. “It could be a hoax to defame someone but the repository is yet to be checked. And once the repository is checked and things get verified, only then the future course of action will be decided,” the official maintained.
He, however, clarified that if the artifacts are found missing a case would be registered. Sources said no case was registered as yet because the complaints had come in from “anonymous persons.”
“Anonymous complaints are generally not entertained but given the seriousness of the issue, the matter is likely to be looked into,” the official sources said. A senior official, however, said that “if a case is filed it will be of theft, to say the least.”
