Jammu GMC soon to have liquid oxygen pipeline: Principal

Jammu, Oct 6: Asserting that dependency on cylinders will come down in coming days, Principal of Jammu based Government Medical College and Hospital, Dr Nasib Chand Digra on Tuesday said that the premises will soon have liquid oxygen pipeline. "We will be having liquid oxygen pipeline soon and it will meet our immediate requirement of oxygen supply," Dr Nasib Chand Digra here said. He said that the pipeline will start functioning in days, adding, "with this facility, our dependency on cylinders will be limited."
Presently the hospital have buffer stock of oxygen cylinders, said the Principal, adding, "I want to ensure people of Jammu that GMC has all facilities and is equipped to deal with the COVID situation."
He further said that in March when COVID crisis escalated, a dedicated pipeline of oxygen supply was advised and the decision was given shape, adding, "it helped us in handling the oxygen supply pressure to COVID19 patients otherwise the situation would have been disastrous."
So far, more than 2000 COVID patients were admitted in the GMC and over 1700 have been treated successfully, said the Principal, adding, "the patients presently undergoing a treatment and nobody has complaint of any oxygen supply shortage while all are satisfied with the facilities."
