66th Wildlife Week Celebrated in Wildlife Division Kathua

KATHUA, Oct 6: The 66th annual Wildlife Week was celebrated by Wildlife Division Kathua by hosting an awareness program for students, NGOs and Masses. The event invited the students from, various schools of Kathua to participate in Painting Poetry and Quiz Competitions.
Member Secretary District Legal Service Authority Kathua, Arti Mohan, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion emphasized on the Conservation of rich flora and fauna of the district. Arti Mohan emphasized the need of support and cooperation from all section of the society towards protection and conservation of the Wildlife.
SFS Wildlife Warden, Vijay Kumar, highlighted richness of fauna in various protected areas of Wildlife Division Kathua spread over three districts. He briefed that the J&K Govt. has notified the Bani Wildlife Sanctuary in district Kathua recently. With the addition, the number of protected Areas has increased to three in Kathua district. He encouraged the participants to contribute and create further awareness for conservation of Wildlife.
Later, Arti Mohan awarded appreciation letter to the field Wild staff for doing extra ordinary work in reducing man-animal conflicts. He also distributed the Certificate and awards to the students who participated in the various competitions.
