ABVP demands probe over selection list in Fire services
10/6/2020 11:31:31 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 6: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded fair investigation into the recently published selection list of drivers and fireman in the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said that there were allegations that the examination paper was deliberately leaked by some officials in the Department who received huge money against question paper.
He said that the department of fire and emergency services have started a recruitment process in 2013.
The exams of the recruitment process were conducted three times for the same posts. Third time departmental recruitment board conducted the exams on 20th September 2020 and result of the final selection was declared on 3rd October this month due to which most of the aspirants have been shocked to see most qualified aspirants have not been selected in the final selection lists.
He asked why the exam has been conducted three times, what is the reason behind this, there is a need that a fair probe against all this and those who are indulge in the scam should be punished.
“There are allegation that there are much qualified aspirants and having a degrees like Graduation, Post Graduation but they are not get selected in the final list, only 8th and 10th pass aspirants have been selected in the final selection list and has managed to secure 89 points while those having higher qualification got only 65-70 points, which is a grave injustice with the qualified youth”, he said.
He further added that it is unfortunate that in the final selection lists only 10 percent candidates selected from Jammu province and more than 90 percent from Kashmir Province in both drivers and firemen lists, which indicates a big scam in the recruitment. The LG government should take the matter seriously and must be probed.
ABVP is of the opinion that the recruitment process should be done in a fair and transparent manner and the eligible candidates should be selected.
The government should take strict action against those who are indulge in any wrong doing in the selection or conducting of exams, they must be punished strictly.
