Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 15: Former Municipal Corporation chairman and senior Congress leader Satish Sharma has accused the BJP of failing in every field, saying that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering the brunt of the failures of the BJP, so people in this Corona period also are not getting better health facilities.
Satish Sharma raised these shortcomings while addressing reporters in his office on Sunday. Satish said that in our tenure, we had started the work of making this hospital worth 100 beds by making the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Gangayal Ward 56 to become a General Hospital from Leperse Hospital and sanctioned 70 crores from then UPA Government at the Centre. All types of specialist doctors were made available and fabricator building was constructed, facility of ultrasound, X-ray, laboratory and ambulance were provided, after which OPD used to have 5 to 6 hundred patients a day. But as soon as our government left in 2014, after that BJP started ignoring this hospital, the result of which is that this 70 crore hospital has become a dispensary of a village during this Corona period and there is only a dentist and an ortho-specialist left. He said that due to shortage of doctors, thousands of people of the area are being denied medical facilities and BJP is watching the spectacle just as a silent spectator. Satish said that if all kinds of specialist doctors were present in this hospital, then in this corona period, people would not have to face so much difficulty to get treatment. Giving a 15-day ultimatum to the Health Department and the UT Administration, Satish said that if all types of specialist doctors were not sent to this hospital, they would start demonstrating in the hospital premises with the local people.
