SRINAGAR, Nov 15: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir that reached 93 percent few days back dropped to 92.90 percent today since there has been a spike in the positive cases since November 12 (Thursday).
The union territory reported 460 fresh cases of Corona Virus today following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 02,619. The death toll due to the virus reached 1589 as nine more deaths took place in the past 24 hours or so.
Srinagar district reported 120 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 94 cases, Baramulla district 51 cases, Budgam district 29 cases, Kishtwar district 23 cases, Ganderbal and Ramban districts 20 cases each, Pulwama district 18 cases, Anantnag district 14 cases, Kathua district 12 cases, Bandipora and Samba districts 11 cases each, Udhampur district eight cases, Doda district seven cases, Poonch district six cases, Reasi district five cases, Kulgam, Shopian and Rajouri districts three cases each and Kupwara district two cases.
Srinagar district reported five fresh Corona Virus deaths with the Jammu district reporting four fresh deaths. So far 1,054 virus related deaths have occurred in the Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 535.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 460 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 189 from Jammu division and 271 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 02,619. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 491 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 162 from Jammu Division and 329 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 02,619 positive cases, 5,688 are active positive, 95,342 have recovered and 1,589 have died; 535 in Jammu division and 1,054 in Kashmir division.
Out of 26, 45,975 test results available, 25, 43,356 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 14,414 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 24,462 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,688 in isolation and 41,083 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 41,592 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 21,426 positive cases, 1,561 active positive, 19,469 recovered 396 deaths; Baramulla has 6,910 positive cases, 672 active positive, 6,081 recovered, 157deaths; Budgam has 6,457 positive cases, 302 active positive, 6,059 recovered, 96 deaths; Pulwama has 4,858 positive cases, 123 active positive, 4,651 recovered, 84 deaths; Kupwara has 4,810 positive cases, 452 active positive, 4,280 recovered, 78 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,431 positive cases, 217 active positive, 4,139 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,235 positive cases, 174 active positive, 4,013 recovered, 48 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,941 positive cases, 329 active positive cases, 3,576 recovered, 36 deaths; Kulgam has 2,549 positive cases, 77 active positive, 2,424 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,282 positive cases, 88 active positive, 2,158 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 19,029 positive cases, 594 active positive, 18,155 recovered, 280 deaths; Rajouri has 3,319 positive cases, 102 active positive, 3,169 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 3,009 positive cases, 240 active positive, 2,734 recovered, 35 deaths; Doda has 2,813 positive cases, 124 active positive, 2,639 recovered, 50 deaths; Kathua has 2,610 positive cases, 87 active positive, 2,490 recovered, 33 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,349 positive cases, 89 active positive, 2,238 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,274 positive cases, 100 active positive, 2,149 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,184 positive cases, 158 active positive, 2010 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,761 positive cases, 116 active positive, 1,627 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,372 positive cases, 83 active positive, 1,281 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 02,619 positive cases in J&K, 10,299 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
