| GDC Chenani organises a Web Talk on Career Counselling | | |

Jammu, Dec 22: Government Degree College, Chenani, under the aegis of its Career Counselling Cell, organised a web talk under the Manodarpan Initiative of the Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan with the title “Rebooting the Economy Post the Lockdown” on 22nd Dec. 2020. The guest speaker was Dr. Deepanker Sen Gupta who is a renowned academician and Professor of Economics at the University of Jammu with specialization in International Political Economy and Industrial Organization Theory.
The proceedings of the webinar began with a welcome address by Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College. She threw light on core issues of the economy in view of the covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Deepanker Sen highlighted the impact of the pandemic on each and every sector of economy and addressed the nature of economic slowdown as well as the recovery in the growth of economy gradually. He also highlighted the positive benefits of the implementation of Atma Nirbhar initiative under the slogan “Going Vocal for Local” under these circumstances. The speaker also highlighted the need for exploring the new avenues and initiatives in various sectors at the local level in order to provide a positive direction to the economy.
Shedding light on the slogan ‘Going Vocal for Local’ and importance of using products and services available in and around the town of Chenani he emphasized that ‘Atma-Nirbharta’ (self-reliance), also means a boost to the local products and economy thereof that can transform local businesses.
