EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Dec 22: In an incident of broad daylight snatching, a miscreant decamped with a mobile phone of a student near Subhash Nagar Jammu on Tuesday.
The victim, Hritik Sharma, who is student of 11th class resident of Shanti Nagar, was going to Parade to attend his tuition class, when reached Subhash Nagar nearly at 2 pm, suddenly a man riding on a Scooty (Activa 5G- Silver) bearing registration number (JK02CM-1191) stopped near him and requested to give him mobile for making an urgent call and decamped with the mobile within no time.
“I was shocked, when the snatcher decamped with my mobile, all this happened so quickly that I could not do anything to catch him.
He came to me and requested that he had to make a very important call as he has no mobile with him. Astonishingly he made a call and later distracted my attention and fled away with the mobile,” said a sobbing Hritik Sharma.
He further said that he belongs to a poor family and his father is an auto driver. “I was given a mobile to remain in touch with family while going out for tuition. I have not only lost my mobile, even there was an amount of Rs 1300 on the back of the mobile cover to pay for my tuition fee,” he said.
Meanwhile, some people nearby the spot of incident came to him and took him to Police Chowki Sarwal for lodging complaint and narrated the entire incident.
When contacted the concerned DySP assured that the culprit will be apprehended by the police. He appealed to the people to remain vigilant and informed the nearby police about any such incident or any such person.
