NC wins 6 seats while BJP, Congress share 3 seats each in Kishtwar DDC elections

Kishtwar, Dec 22: Like in other parts of union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the counting of the votes for District Development Council Elections was also held in Kishtwar with out of 14 seats, the results of 13 DDC constituencies declared by the authorities till late evening.
Result of prestigious Kishtwar DDC constituency hangs in suspense after two votes were found in excess in the ballot box forcing BJP and PDP to protest against the administration alleging rigging. The allegations were denied by the authorities at the helm of affairs since it was later found printing error as instead of 50 ballot votes passbook-it was 52 votes printed in one passbook of ballot votes and the presiding officer counted the passbook as contain 50 ballot votes.
Following the intervention of senior officials, the counting of votes started once again after delay of around 8 hours, but BJP, Congress & PDP left the counting hall. After repeated requests when they didn’t turn up - the returning officer started the counting of votes and the whole counting is being video-graphed. As per the details available with Early Times, NC won 6 seats, BJP and Congress won three seats each while an independent candidate Sheikh Zafrullah won from Marwah. As per the results the winners are Warwan Abdul Razak (Independent NC backed), Marwah Sheikh Zaffarullah (Independent), Dachhan Pooja Thakur (NC), Palmar Tahir Masood (NC), Trigham Om Prakash (BJP), Nagsini Faisal Hussain (NC), Padder Hari Krishan (BJP), Thakrie Sharifa Begum (NC), Mughal Maidan Saima Banoo (Congress), Inderwal Rubeena Begum (NC), Drabshalla B Hans Raj (Congress), Bhujwah Amina Banoo (Congress) and Drabshalla A has been won by Ashok Kumar of BJP.
