Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 22: The Centre shifting its focus on development of Jammu and Kashmir has exposed the Kashmir centric parties that ruled the erstwhile state in the past.
An observer while talking to Early Times said, “The works which these parties couldn’t do during the past 70-years are almost nearing completion.”
He said, “Someone needs to ask these politicians what they were doing during all these years. Why couldn’t they address the issues which touched the skin of a common man.” The observer said that the pace of development works has increased manifolds since the day Manoj Sinha has taken over as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
“LG Sinha has kept the administration on toes. He has made it clear that serving a common man is the government’s priority and if any of the officials compromise with it they will have to bear the consequences.”
An analyst said, “LG Sinha has proved to be a strong administrator. He has proved it beyond doubt that where there is a will there is a way.”
He said, “The politicians who ruled J&K in the past never made an attempt to reach out to the people. They remained busy with reaping the fruits of power.”
The analyst said that common complaint which everyone had during the political regimes was that the elected representatives don’t remain accessible to people. “After assuming power ministers used to disappear and forget the people who use to vote for them. This had become a trend in the political regimes. There were many instances in the past that grass root workers of the political parties used to approach the high command with the complaints against their leaders. This was the common issue with the ruling parties,” he added.
He said that since August 5, 2019—when the Centre announced its decision to abrogate J&K’s special status and bifurcated it into two union territories—many things have changed in J&K. “The change is visible on the ground and if political parties in near future get a chance to rule J&K they should take a cue from LG Sinha, who has handled all the affairs so meticulously,” the analyst added.
