Govt. Degree College Khour organizes an online Inter-Collegiate Mathematical Quiz Competition

Jammu, Dec 22: To Commemorate the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, an Indian Mathematician as “National Mathematics Day”, the department of Mathematics GDC Khour organized an online Mathematical Quiz Competition on 22-12-2020. The main focus of the quiz was to give students an opportunity to assess and develop their Mathematical knowledge, skill and competency especially in calculus, reals and algebra.
A total of 37 candidates participated in the contest and 13 of them qualified the contest by securing more than 60% marks, as minimally required and were awarded with e-certificates.
The 1st place shared jointly by 10 participants namely Ashish Toor of GDC Samba, Pushpam Sharma, Ayush Toor & Aditya Khanna of GGM Science College Jammu, Rameshwar Sambyal & Manu Devi of GDC Vijaypur, Umar Sayeed of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri, Shakeel-ul-Rehman, Lukman Ahmed, Murtaza Ahmed of PG College Rajouri by securing 100% marks in the quiz.
The 2nd place shared jointly by two students, Bilal Mughal & Ashaq Ali of PG College Rajouri by securing 95% marks, while Ravinder Singh of University of Jammu stood at 3rd place by securing 65% marks in the quiz.
The programme was conducted by Mr. Surinder Sharma, Assistant Professor Mathematics under the supervision of college principal Prof. Hans Raj.
