Pink Panthers beats Super Strikers in second match

JAMMU, Dec 22: The second match of the Royal Women Cricket Tournament Season-2 was played here at Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The tournament organized by the Royal Women Cricket Club under the supervision of President of the Club Veena Sharma, Treasurer Anita Gupta, Shambhu Nath Sharma and Dr. Rupali Salathia. Three women teams have participated in this competition including Super Strikers, Pink Panthers and Royal Mega Star. Satika Sharma, Meenu Salathia, Surekha Singh, Ankita Jalla, Naina Kashyap and Ashima Pathania are playing the official roles in the competition. In today’s match, Tarun Uppal, Chairperson Nirbhay Bharat Foundation was the Chief Guest while Gulshan Ratan was the Guest of Honour and Naveen Kaul was the Special Guest. Today’s match was played between the Super Strikers and the Pink Panthers which was a thrilling contest.
Winning the toss in today’s match, the Pink Panthers decided to bat first and scored 80 runs. Sarla contributed 37 runs for the team while Sapna contributed 12 runs to the team. Aditi, Bushara and Sandhya all took 2–2 wickets in bowling from the Super Strikers. The Super Strikers could not manage to hit the target and lost the match by 13 runs. Rudrakshi scored 19 and Aditi scored 10 from the team.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Uppal called upon the women players to participate in sports activities wholeheartedly and bring laurels to the nation and the Union Territory. He said there is no dearth of talent among the youth, adding that there is need of the hour is to channelize it in the right direction.
