Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: Recently Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, while addressing a public rally in Uttar Pradesh announced that no farmer will have to pay electricity bills for next 5 years if BJP wins in UP assembly elections.
“Holi is on 18th (March), counting is on 10th, bring the BJP government to power on 10th, free gas cylinders will reach your house on 18th of March.
No farmer will have to pay electricity bills for the next five years,” Shah said.
“His announcement that farmers will not have to pay electricity bills has made farmers jubilant in Uttar Pradesh and can help his party in the ongoing elections. In J&K also people are waiting for similar announcements and are hoping that the things will change but the bureaucrats managing J&K affairs seem to be hell bent upon ruining the prospects of BJP in the Union Territory,” said an observer.
He said, “Not to talk about providing free electricity to farmers, the officials of the Power Development Department are disconnecting the electricity of the people despite paying hefty bills.”
The observer said, “The anti-people policies of the present regime being managed by the bureaucrats could spell doom for Bharatiya Janata Party in the assembly elections in J&K as and when these are held. BJP high command should take note of it and act against those who are disconnecting electricity and are passing arbitrary orders.”
