Mayor JMC takes stock of power woes of Jammu residents

JAMMU, Apr 4: With an aim to highlight the burning issues of general public regarding poor power supply position in Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC along with Raj Kumar Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee, Ajay Gupta Chairman Social Justice Committee today projected major issues of PDD which are being faced by the citizens of Jammu in this hot weather conditions.
Addressing media persons the Mayor said that during his routine tour of various wards of the city along with concerned councillors, general public besides raising the issues of construction of drains/ lanes, better sanitation which belongs to JMC also put forth problems which they are facing on daily basis regarding shortage of power & water supply, pouring of electricity bills in their names bearing huge amount, frequent power cuts in their localities and other related issues which pertains to PDD before their elected representatives because they are easily approachable to them.
He said that the issue of water supply has been resolved to some extent due to transfer of Jal Shakti Depatment (Urban) to JMC but in order to minimize the sufferings of citizens of Jammu regarding PDD which is not the domain of JMC.
Anant Tayal Managing Director JPDCL along with Xen's, AEE's of Jammu City were called in the office of Mayor where Deputy Mayor, all the three Chairpersons, Councillors of various wards of old Jammu city, Avny Lavasa Commissioner JMC were also present & raised these vital issues strongly in one voice before the Managing Director, JPDCL & his team.
Installation of Smart Meters was opposed until the proper infrastructure/ cabling is done, unscheduled power cuts be stopped which also affects the water supply in the whole locality. The MD JPDCL assured that the genuine issues of the general public regarding PDD will be resolved on top priority.
