Stenographers demand re-exam, accuse outside agency of messing it up
>Keyboards were not working, dictation was inaudible
4/4/2022 11:57:05 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 4: Job aspirants who appeared for the typing exams for the post of stenographers announced by the J&K High Court staged a protest here on Monday alleging that exams were conducted in an unfair manner.
Talking to reporters, aspirants said, “Our exams were held on April 2. Earlier these exams were conducted by the Judicial Academy but this time an outside agency was asked to conduct these exams.”
They said, “For these exams there are some mandatory requirements. Like dictations should be audible to candidates, our keyboards should be checked so that we don’t face any problems.”
“When we entered the examination hall, we were surprised to see that they had installed marriage speakers inside the hall.
The candidates who sat near the speakers could hear the dictation but the ones who were not close were unable to hear.
Another problem we faced was that the key boards were not working. When the aspirants went to appear for the test in the second shift the same dictation was put to them. It is for the first time that the dictation has been repeated. This gave an edge to aspirants in the second shift.”
Protesters said, “We appeal to the Chief Justice to re-conduct our exams so that justice is done and transparency is maintained.”
