Present regime out to disempower natives: Thakur Yashuvardhan Singh
Says corruption is at peak, locals suffering
4/4/2022 11:57:20 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 4: National Conference spokesperson, Thakur Yashuvardhan Singh on Monday said that people of J&K are facing a tough time as the present regime seems to be hell bent upon disempowering the natives.
Talking to Early Times, Singh said, “The former J&K Governor had promised 50,000 jobs to the youth. Where are these jobs? Today the youth are on streets and they are running from pillar to post.”
He said, “Ladakh is a UT and J&K is also a UT but outsiders cannot buy land in Ladakh but they can purchase land in J&K.
Isn’t this discrimination. When outsiders start purchasing land at higher costs, the natives will automatically lose their stakes. Our people are not that rich they cannot compete with outsiders vis-à-vis money.”
Singh said, “The outsiders are getting jobs, but J&K youth are not being even considered. Not only job seekers businessmen are also suffering. To check their own ground they conducted the DDC elections to check their ground.
As many as 280 candidates were elected as DDC members but they were not given any powers.”
The NC leader said, “BJP is not holding elections in J&K as it knows that people would reject it. The BJP leaders recently said that if people elect a BJP chief minister they will provide free power and water. I want to tell them that at present its their government which is in power in the Centre and is ruling the UT. Why can’t they provide free electricity and water at present? First they should get the inflated power bills handed over to poor people revoked and then talk about providing free electricity to people.”
Singh said, “At present the government is disconnecting power lines. Poor people have been handed over Rs one lakh bills. How can they pay such hefty bills?”
He said, “The present regime is out to suppress poor people and is taking anti-poor decisions. The government doesn’t believe in talking to people. The corruption is at its peak.”
