Kishtwar, Apr 4: The angry parents of the students studying in Government Primary School Watna in Panchayat Lohidar-A of Mughalmaidan falling under Education Zone Inderwal today urged upon the government and the administration to take immediate action against the teacher posted in the school.
As per the details available with Early Times, the parents send their children to school in the morning, but was surprised to find the school closed.
“We have recovered a call from a cook who intimate us that the school is closed and advise us to come to school and take their children back” said Raj Kumar, a local.
The school which has 40 students enrolled is said have run by only one teacher.
“The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar is requested to take action against the absentees- the closure of school is highly condemnable and warranted strict possible action”, said local Sarpanch Bashir Ahmed Sheikh after video of closure of the school goes viral.
Meanwhile following public outrage, CEO Kishtwar immediately order for withholding of the salaries of the employees posted in the said school and ask him to explain his position within 3 days along with another School namely High School Gurinal, however after verification of the complaint, it was found that High School Gurinal functions normally and even health department organised a medical camp in the school premises.
Speaking to Early Times, the official sources said that the single teacher posted in GPS Watna had to appear in B.Ed examination and as such didn’t attend his duties, however after some time, an alternative teacher was deputed to the school for making it functional till the said teacher return back to his duty.
“He (teacher) should have inform the department about his leaving the station for appearing in B.Ed examination- this is a pure violation of service conduct rules and warranted action” said the official wishing anonymity.
