Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 3: Official handout issued by the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP is a clear indication that the Saffron Party is worried over the growing clout of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in J&K in general and Jammu province in particular.
Amid reports that a large number of senior political activists are going to job AAP in the coming days, BJP is trying to present a brave face to give an impression that there is no threat to the party.
“There is no threat to BJP from the emergence of AAP on the political map of the Union Territory”, official handout issued by BJP stated.
“We have a strong base and are poised to form the next government with our own chief minister,” J&K president of BJP Ravinder Raina told reporters at a function organized to welcome several prominent people, including some doctors at the party headquarters here.
By trying to present a brave face, BJP is giving a message to its cadre that remain united at this crucial time when AAP is aggressively intruding in the Jammu region.
Highly placed sources amid reports that over 100 Panchayati members along with former legislators are likely to join AAP in coming days, BJP leadership is worried over peoples’ tilt towards Kejriwal’s party.
“After joining of a large number of people in the party, BJP has not at least half a dozen candidates on all seats of Jammu province”, sources said and there is a feeling among party leadership that those who would be denied tickets would join AAP.
