ADGP Armed Felicitates J&K Police wrestling team for winning 28th Men Free-Style Wrestling Championship

JAMMU, Apr 4: S.J.M Gillani-IPS Addl. Director General of Police Armed J&K felicitated J&K Police Wrestling team for winning 9 Gold & 6 Silver medals in 28th Men Free-Style Wrestling Championship organized under the auspices of Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council & J&K Olympic Association at Jammu.
15 Players of J&K Poice Wrestling team who participated in the afore said championship and their coach Shri Om Parkash-HC, Asst. Coach SgCt Krishan Singh and trainers SgCt Anil Kumar & SgCt Ravinder Kumar led by Dushyant Sharma-SSP SO Sports APHQ J&K were felicitated by the ADGP Armed J&K today in an impressive felicitation ceremony held at APHQ J&K Jammu.
The Wrestling team of J&K Police which comprised of SgCt Rajesh Kumar No.1878/J (Silver), Const. Diler Khan No.1242/R (Silver), Const. Bania Min No.401/IRP-17th Bn. (Silver), Const. Arif Khan No.738/IRP-7th Bn. (Gold), Const. Surayader Singh No.558/IRP-1st Bn. (Gold), Const. Ishaq Ahmad No.915/IRP-14th Bn. (Gold), Const. Hamam Hussain No.842/IRP-22nd Bn. (Gold), Const. Shamahoon No.254/IRP-22nd Bn. (Silver), Const. Nissar Ahmad No.742/Doda (Gold), Const. Ranjeet Singh No.870/IRP-14th Bn. (Gold), Const. Mohd Hafiz No.766/IRP-24th Bn. (Silver), Foll. Sunny Sharma No.40/IRP-12th Bn. (Silver), Foll. Vicky Sharma No.57/IRP-24th Bn. (Gold),
SPO Sanjay Kumar No.1982/J (Gold) and SPO Rohit Singh No.10/CID Jammu (Gold) overall scored 9 Gold & 6 Silver Medals and emerged overall Champion in UT Level Wrestling Championship held in the Gymnasium of the University of Jammu on March 30th & 31st of 2022.
Dr. Dawood Iqbal Baba Director, Directorates of Sports & Physical Education University of Jammu who was the Guest of Honour on the closing function joined by Former International wrestler of India & Former President Wrestling federation of India Dushyant Sharma-SSP SO Sports APHQ J&K presented trophy, medals & certificates to the winners.
While felicitating the wrestling team of J&K Police, the ADGP Armed Shri S.J.M Gillani-IPS appreciated the role of SO Sports APHQ J&K for honing the talent of the team and also lauded the role of coaches/ trainers in imparting effective and result oriented training to the players of J&K Police Wrestling team which made it possible for the team to win the UT Level Wrestling Championship in which 130 Wrestlers from across the all Districts of the J&K UT participated. S.J.M Gillani-IPS laid emphasis on regular practise of the team to fetch even better results in future.
