DSEJ resorts to selective transfers again, allege teachers

Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 11: The recent transfers of master grade teachers in various districts of Jammu region by the Directorate School Education (DSE) has again come under severe criticism with teaching community alleging favoritism. The tall claims of the School Education Department of adopting rationalization in transfer policy have fallen flat with these transfers. It was claimed by the department that mass transfers will be done so that aggrieved, genuine teachers, who are posted in other districts and in far flung areas for the last 6-7 years will be benefited but it failed again to rise to the occasion as only selective transfers were done wherein influential teachers barring few exceptions managed to get their transfers and posting at their choice places. Sources informed the Early Times that it has been more than seven years since the last time the mass transfers of teachers were made across the region and till then no such move was taken by the DSE Jammu. “It was being expected that hundreds of teachers will be picked up for transfers from each district but ...

Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 11: Performance of Government Medical College Kathua is no better than a District Hospital, at least in case of conducting surgeries of Ortho, ENT and others, as the hospital is still performing surgeries in the erstwhile district hospital, forcing the patients to visit Jammu or private hospitals. Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 11: The positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 83,633 after 569 fresh cases of virus were reported today. Following nine more deaths the death toll due to virus reached 1,322. Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 11: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Sunday held the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370 responsible for the Chinese aggression at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. Speaking exclusively to National TV channel, Farooq Abdullah said that China “never accepted” the Abrogation of Article 370, and hoped that it will be restored with China’s support. “Whatever they are doing at LAC in Ladakh all because of the abrogation of Article 370, which they never accepted. Ladakh records 72 new cases, one more death

Agencies Leh, Oct 11: The union territory of Ladakh reported 72 new coronavirus cases and one more death, taking the total COVID-19 cases to 5059 and fatalities to 64, an official bulletin said on Sunday. With 87 more patients cured of the disease, the number of active cases in the region dropped to 1022 785 in Leh district and 237 in Kargil district, the bulletin released this morning by the directorate of health services said. The latest COVID-related death took place in Kargil, taking the total number of fatalities in Ladakh to 64 38 in Kargil and 26 in Leh, it said. Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 11: A religious school in Shopian district of South Kashmir has come under the scanner of investigating agencies after 13 of its students were found to have joined terror groups, officials said here. The institution’s students include Sajjad Bhat, an accused in the February 2019 suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama that left 40 personnel dead.
