Early Times Report
Jammu, June 21: The negligence shown by previous Congress-National Conference government towards restoration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex stood exposed as it had repatriated entire staff from the Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS) Executive Director's office, adversely paralyzing its functioning.
Sources informed Early Times that MMJHS Executive Director's Office has total sanctioned strength of 21 employees, but presently only one employee was manning the department.
"The total sanctioned strength was never filled completely. Only six or seven employees were deputed in MMJHS office but in December 2014, four employees were repatriated back to their parent departments. An Account Assistant was also repatriated few days back, leaving behind only one employee in the office", sources said.
They further informed that Executive Director had forwarded several letters, time and again to higher authorities for repatriation or replacement of the employees in the office but all in vain.
According to the letter no ED/MMJHS/1253, dated 6/6/2015, an appeal was made to Commissioner Secretary to Government Tourism and Culture Department to either repatriate the four employees, who were repatriated to their parent department in December 2014, or retain them in MMJHS.
Rajinder Kumar Head Assistant, Romesh Chander Sharma Store Keeper, Gian Chand and Abdul Rashid Orderlies were repatriated vide General Administrative Department order number 1237-GAD of 2014, dated 11/12/2014, to their parent departments from MMJHS.
Moreover, in the last six months, no replacement of employees was given to MMJHS, due to which on June 6, 2015, Executive Director wrote the letter in which he had maintained that after lapse of five months, neither GAD had issued any order for replacement of above mentioned employees, thus adversely affecting the work of the office.
Sources informed that in the last six months, all other remaining employees, except one, were also repatriated to their parent departments from MMJHS, while the employees, who were repatriated in December, were also not getting their salaries for the last six months. "At present only one employee is working in MMJHS while the new dispensation is yet to mend the follies of previous dispensation", sources said. Though few days back, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed held a meeting of Executive Committee of MMJHS, but sources said that the issue was not discussed in the meeting.
