Casino lover Farooq turns ISIS supporter

Early Times Report
Jammu, July 25: Former J&K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, who had once asked India to bomb Pakistan, has decided to start playing politics of soft-separatism to compete with the PDP after being pushed to the corner by the ruling party.
Abdullah, who was lavishly praised by former RAW chief AS Dulat in his autobiography, has said that displaying ISIS flags is an expression of anger by the Kashmiri youth.
It was an unexpected U-turn by Abdullah who used to criticize Pakistan, the ISIS and radicalism in Kashmir when he was in the power. Abdullah had once even asked for opening of pubs and bars in the Valley to bring in more tourist traffic and also famously asked for opening casinos in the Valley which expectedly evoked strong reaction.
Abdullah, now at the fag end of his political career, sidelined and even ousted out of the coveted post of the J&K Cricket Association president, has now decided to pedal the soft-separatists approach. But in doing so he has gone a bit too far.
With his remarks on the ISIS flags, the senior Abdullah has also forgotten in the process that symbolism has the potential of translating into a reality and this could mean that there would be much more radicalism, and that too of the greatest proportion in the Valley.
"To keep himself in news, Abdullah has chosen a dangerous path for the Kashmiri youth. While he and his son are living a king-size life away from the Valley for most of the time, he is pushing the youth of the Valley on a course which has dangerous ramification," a political commentator told Early Times.
"While the PDP is for maintaining status-quo, which also implies living and accepting the sovereignty of India, Farooq is suggesting creating an ultra radical brigade to undermine the concept of India's sovereignty," the commentator said.
