Many complaints have been reported from the pilgrims to have been duped of their money by the fruit vendors who allegedly in connivance with the administration there are looting the gullible purchasers by charging them the astronomical amounts for the fruits purchased by them.
As per the information making rounds in the base camp Katra a one kg of Mango that costs around Rs 100 in Jammu Mandi is being charged Rs 220 to Rs 250 per kg with no check on the prices coming from the administration.
Same is the case with other seasonal fruits like banana that costs Rs 50 to Rs 55 per dozen in Jammu mandi is being charged at Rs 100 to Rs 120 per dozen which turns out to be a brazen anarchy in the holy town being exercised by the fruit vendors .

Amit Kumar of Ranchi too had the same grudge when he had to shell Rs230 for a one dozen ornage which are priced Rs 70 at Jammu.
