Azad, Raj Babbar to hold road show in Kishtwar today | Security beefed up in communally sensitive District | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Apr 13:- Ahead of April 17 polling in Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary seat, the security has been beefed up in communally Sensitive Kishtwar District that witnessed worst Communal clashes on August 9 last year resulted into the death of three persons, beside large scale loot and arson of public and government property. As per the details available with "Early Times" all the entry and exit points leading to Kishtwar town have been sealed by the security forces and all the vehicles entering into the town are being checked. The district administration has also constituted several teams of the officials to keep an eye on the law and order problem. As per police sources, 7 Coy of 52 Bn CRPF was already camped at Kishtwar, beside 23 Coy of CRPF and 4 Coy of IRP 5th, 14th and 7th were expected either to reach Kishtwar by today evening or tomorrow afternoon. Each Coy has the strength of 98 to 108 security personnels. District administration has also dispatched several polling teams to far flung areas of the District including Marwah and Warwan where the polling teams were air dropped due to presence of heavy snowfall in the area while the teams in other parts of the District having 225 polling stations were either on its way or will leave tomorrow. Due to bad weather condition, the administration could not manage to arrange more air sorties as a result of which the polling teams for Dachhan having no road connectivity were dispatched by foot along with proper security cover as the area has presence of militants belongs to Hizb outfit. The polling teams for remote areas of Padder including Machail situated at the distance of three days foot journey and villages adjoining to Machail will be dispatched tomorrow by foot incase the administration fails to arrange chopper facilities, similar is the case with polling teams to be dispatched in Kither area of the District Kishtwar. Several employees assigned with polling duty informed the "Early Times" that no proper arrangements of food and accommodation has been given to them, beside private vehicle owners also accuses that transport department officers are harassing them and are forcing them to accompanied them for polling duty. They said that transport department officials has also seized the documents of some vehicles and assured them that the same will be return to them once the election will be over. Meanwhile Union Health Minister and Congress party candidate from Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Ghulam Nabi Azad along with yesteryear Bollywood star Raj Babber are arriving at Kishtwar tomorrow afternoon where both the leaders will hold a road show in Kishtwar town and will cover the distance of over 5 KM. Azad decision to hold road show in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas comes in wake of successful public rallies by BJP candidate Dr. Jitendra Singh and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti at Kishtwar a day before. Both Congress and National Conference leaders have putting all their efforts in to make Azad and Raj Babber road show a grand success. Raj Babber is the 2nd Bollywood actor after late Sunil Dutt to campaign for Congress party in Kishtwar District. |
