Jammu, June 16: O P Sharma, well known painter and lens man of Jammu (J&K) participated in an International Art Exhibition and International Seminar at Nainital by 'Snehil', Dehradun, a pioneer Art Oganization of Uttrakhand committed for the cause of Cultural Heritage & its Promotion. Dr. Aziz Qureshi, Governor Uttrakhand inaugurated the Exhibition. The exhibition cum seminar which was held between June 10 to 12. Works by sixty artists were included in the Indian section of the Exhibition. The theme of seminar was 'Women in the Second Half of the Century'. The art works by other artists from India included V S Rahi, New Delhi; Aloke Bhawsar, Bhopal; K S Gill and Dharmender Sharma of Amritsar; Ramesh Bhosale and Shubhada Bhosale of Maharashtra; Neelima Gupta, Meerut; Jaskanwaljeet Kaur and Sadhna Sunghar, Chandigarh; Dr. Beena Pandey, Mainital; Dr. Mamta Singh and Anita Tiwari, Dehradun etc. The participants from Sri Lanka, Afghanstan. Pakistan, Australia, USA took part in these activities. O P Sharma has displayed his art works many times in and outside the state at International and National levels. He has conducted many National level art camps and events as Convener. He is also associated with organizational work in the field of art and culture. He is working as Director, Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu. |
