| Dearth of competent professors in JU breeds favouritsim | | | K Koushal
Jammu, June 16: It seems that the Jammu University (JU) is facing dearth of competent professors owing to which JU administration is gifting away one after another coveted positions to a single person, thus by and large dishonoring the statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over one man one post. According to sources, Jammu University administration placed Professor Archana Kesar as new Head of Department (HoD) Dogri Department replacing Professor Shiv Dev Manhas before 4 months to complete his tenure. However, highly placed sources in the Jammu University administration pleading anonymity alleged that this appointment is purely made to favour some blue-eyed as interviews for the post of one Professor and two Assistant Professor is going to be held within two months. Pertinently, Professor Archana Kesar who remained in news for one or another reasons is also holding charge of Director Music and Fine Arts. Dr. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu while talking to Early Times said "owing to some complaints, Shiv Dev Manhas was removed from the post and Archana Kesar was posted as HoD". While replying to the issue of one man one post he said that "Kesar was appointed Director Music and Fine Arts prior to him while they are searching land for institution of Music and Fine Arts and accordingly the director will be replaced".
