Chevrolet Cup T20 Tourney Manik, Dhruv guide KCCC to final | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 12: First class cricketers, experienced Dhruv Mahajan and young Manik Gupta today guided Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) to a fine 20 runs win over Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) on way to the final of the Chevrolet Cup Twenty20 Tournament at KC Public School ground, here. Advanced by a day, the first semifinal witnessed Dhruv Mahajan hitting a couple of brilliant hits to remain unbeaten at 57 runs thereby helped KCCC set a target of 147 runs for seven wickets. Later, Manik restricted the opponent to 126 for seven after he took away most of the three wickets in his economical spell of 18 runs in four overs. Earlier, besides Dhruv, Manik Gupta batted well making 38 runs off 40 deliveries while Vimarsh Kaw contributed 14 and Raman Dutta added10 runs. From Rainawari Club, Dilbag Singh emerged as most successful bowler with three for 32 in four overs. Amit Sharma took two wickets while Jatin bagged one. In reply, Rainawari Club could make 126 runs in given 20 overs losing seven wickets. Satish Kumar made highest 44 runs hitting two sixes and five boundaries while Jatin added 19-ball 20 runs. Manik Gupta took three wickets for 18 runs in four overs from KCCC. Dhruv Mahajan, Sahil Bhalwal and Somay Jain shared apiece each. For his all round performance, Manik Gupta was named man of the match. Today's semifinal officiated by Sadiq Hussain and Rajinder Singh as umpires while Sohail Yusuf was scorer. Now, in other semifinal, scheduled for July 15, KC Sports Club shall take on New Challenger at the same venue at 2.30 pm. |
