Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 20 : Flanked by formerly noted National Conference leaders, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed addressed massive rally at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's turf in Ganderbal and without naming Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) asked people to vote for his party and sideline parties trying to divide the state. With former NC faces like Shiekh Ghulam Rasool who recently left NC and leveled serious allegations against NC working President Omar Abdullah and other top brass leaders of NC, PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed today while addressing a massive gathering of people in central Eidgah of Ganderbal in support nominated candidate of PDP Qazi Muhammad Afzal said that PDP is committed to change the political discourse of Jammu and Kashmir and tackle all such powers which are committed to divide people of the state on religious and ethnic lines. Mufti was also accompanied by dozens of former NC workers who according to details were until recently considered as Pillars of NC in Ganderbal. "People have to come forward in large numbers during elections to sideline parties who want to divide state on religious and ethnic lines, people of Ganderbal have once proved that they want change when they supported Qazi Muhhamad Afzal, you people I am sure would do it again to pave way for peace and sustainable development for yourself and for people of rest of the state as well." Said PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed while indicting towards BJP. He said that people should make a comparison of what NC and other governments did during their decades of rule over Jammu and Kashmir and what PDP did during a short span of three years of rule and judge parties and politicians on their performance and only give to those people only whom they feel did some work for them previously. While warning people of many political developments taking place these days across the country ahead of upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti without naming anybody said that power to change the destiny of the State lies only with the people of the state and not elsewhere and not with anybody whosoever he is with whatever slogans and propaganda. Mufti said that if voted to power PDP would continue from where it left its developmental works during previous government and would carry forward the initiatives taken then for resolution of Kashmir issue once for all.
