Two day workshop on Maternal, Child Health Guidelines organized | | | Early Times Report
Leh, Nov 22: Two days orientation cum dissemination workshop organised by Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission (JKNHM) on Maternal and Child Health Guidelines at Leh. The workshop was inaugurated by Mission Director DrYashpal Sharma and Director Health Services, Kashmir DrSaleem Ur Rehman. Speaking on the occasion, DrYashpal Sharma appreciated the functioning of health department in Ladakh region despite harsh weather conditions and difficult terrains. He urged for plugging of gaps in the delivery of essential services through action at various levels of the healthcare delivery system so that best Maternal and Child health care was provided to the community. He said what is needed, was the close monitoring, dedication and professional acumen of the medical and paramedical staff deployed in various health institutions. He said though NRHM have provided both infrastructural as well as manpower strengthening in health department besides adequate equipments in health institutions, onus lies on Medical and paramedical staff to appropriately use these healthcare facilities with a missionary mode and update their knowledge with latest guidelines to serve the community. Meanwhile, DrPhunsokhWangchuk, Chief Medical Officer Leh said that the health department was committed to provide quality health care in the region and requested for adequate funding from JKNHM. DrShabirHussain, Chief Medical Officer, Kargil requested for including the Kargil District in the list of High Priority Districts for enhanced funding under JKNHM. |
