Jammu, Nov 25: The MJR-47 Movement for justice for 1947 refugees, at Miran Sahib, RS Pura, expressed shock and great disappointment on lackadaisical attitudes of BJP on providing relief in the relief package recommended by state government in favour of hapless refuges of POK 1947 as well as Chamb of 47, 65 and 71.
According to press release, the MJR said that BJP was very vocal and showing sympathies with POK 47 refuges as also of Chamb, has now very tactically returned the state recommended package by linking it with west Pakistan refugees knowing well that we are the legitimate resident of state and as such are liabilities of the state for ensuring their proper settlement by providing relief.
"Whereas West Pakistan Refugees is a different class who are non state subject and in their case it is question of providing them citizenship in J&K state plus relief. For citizenship of state it will require constitutional amendment, where as if union Govt. is interested to provide relief it can do so without state recommendation in their case", MJR leaders said.
They further said that by clubbing POJ or Chamb refugees with west Pakistan refugees, BJP 's ill intention have become clear that BJP is only showing lip courts for the hapless class of refugees and never had the intension to solve their problem.
"Is it now irony that Narinder Bhai Modi, now PM was so vocal and expressing anxiety to settle refugees before parliament election and is showing cold shoulder now. He had assured to remove tag of refugees once for all.
This clearly reflects their intension. In case the union Govt. to help west Pakistan refugees let them extend the similar dole to them as has been recommended for POK and Chamb refugees and later peruse with state Govt. for their citizenship with the Govt. who so ever comes to power after the election", the leaders added.
They said that they have suffered for the last 67 years and can't wait anymore now. "Once we cast our vote our agenda will be put on the shelf for another six years to gather dust. We are now in third generation since 1947 and will not wait anymore.
We give wakeup call to all refugees families to understand the strategy of political parties and teach them lesson else have clear-cut time-bound schedule assurance for sanction of recommend package before casting their vote", they added.
