Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 26: Aberrant parking of various means of transportation including matadors, autos and cars on the main road in Parade area has become a cause of concern for the locals as well as commuters since the serpentine rows of vehicles block smooth movement of vehicular traffic.
A deputation of some locals on Wednesday evening approached Early Times office and alleged that matador and auto drivers have encroached half of the road as they used to park their vehicles according to their will and the police including the traffic wing has become a mute spectator to this whole mess.
They further said that area opposite Hanuman temple near vegetables and fruit mandi has been encroached by auto-drivers completely owing to which the Parade-Pakka Danga stretch usually remains blocked throughout day.
They further alleged that situation was not the same when Shashi Thakur was in charge Police Post Parade as she had issued some strict instructions to these matador and auto drivers to which they were adhered to but after she was replaced by Chowki In charge Sumeet and incumbent in charge Rahul Mahajan, these vehicle owners and drivers are not obeying any traffic rule.
In charge Police Post Parade Rahul Mahajan when contacted by Early Times said that JKP is doing its level best to streamline the traffic of the city though it is the duty of traffic police and said that some businessmen and locals used to park their vehicles but the same will not be allowed in future.
