KATHUA, Feb 26: While Swine Flu tightens its clench in Jammu and Kashmir where toll of Swine Flu cases enhances every day but Government has yet to set up check up centre at Lakhanpur, Railway Station, Bus Stand and other public places of district Kathua. While interacting to media, commuters and transporters sought Swine Flu check up centre and other medical facilities at Lakhanpur. They alleged Health Department and J&K Government to ignore the main sources of communicative disease that can be brought from outside the state. Vijay Gupta, Station master, Railways Station Kathua said despite having the knowledge of communicative disease that can be brought through passengers who visit here from different states, Local administration and Health department still not provided any medical facility or set up Check up centre in Railway station. He said there must be check up centre that diagnosis the passengers when they arrive at station. Riyaz Ahmad, an employee with Excise & Commercial Taxation Lakhanpur, appraised that several commuters and transporters enter the state everyday but there is no medical check-up camp which would invite communicative disease like Swine Flu in the state. He hailed his department that provided Mask to employees but alleged on government to play with the lives of passengers and visitors who enter the state. Javed Ahmad, a driver hailing from Kashmir, said the government collects huge revenue from Lakhanpur infact Rs 10,000 per vehicle but impediment to provide medical facility at the Gateway to J&K. He added that the bad sanitary condition its reveals the claim of development of state government. He said Government should organize regular medical camps at Lakhanpur so as to detect communicative disease before spreading in the state. When contacted Dr Rajinder Kumar, Superintendent of District Hospital Kathua, he said no such medicine of Swine Flu is available in hospital but the demand has been preceded to concern authority. He said the higher authority will send medicine in days to come. He accepted to have Check up camps in Gateway to J&K, Railway Station, Bus Stand and other public places but expressed regret due to unavailability of such facilities being provided by Directorate Health department. |
