Construction of Income Tax Colony at Jammu completed NBCC to hand over possession soon 3/4/2015 10:57:46 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: The 'Dream Project' of A K Thatai, the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (PCIT), J&K, Jammu is going to be a reality soon as the construction work of the prestigious Income Tax Colony at Resham Ghar is almost finished. The final modalities of handing over the colony to the Department were discussed today by the AGM, NBCC Ltd., Mohd. Rafiq with the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K when the latter visited the construction site today to take stock of things. Thatai expressed his satisfaction about the various aspects of construction work being carried out by the NBCC which is a government owned Construction Company. It may be mentioned that the construction work of Income Tax Colony had started in the year 2012 when Thatai took over as Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu. He had been taking a very keen interest in the progress of construction work so that the Income Tax Department may have its own modern department houses to accommodate their senior and middle level officers who come on posting from out station and normally find it very difficult to rent a decent house within their house rent entitlement. "This is a staff welfare measure which we are going to accomplish so as to make them comfortable and in turn should devote more time towards their office work. This would increase their efficiency, I am fully confident", Thatai said.
