Jammu, Mar 4: JKAACL and Radio Kashmir, Jammu jointly organized JHAROKHA, an interactive programme with Padamshree Prof. Ved Ghai today at K.L Saigal Hall, Jammu under series of interaction and felicitation programmes. According to press release, Padamshree Padma Sachdeva, a renowned Dogri poetess and writer presided whereas VK Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu, Haroon Rashid, Secretary of the Academy and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary were in the presidium. Speaking on the occasion, Padma Sachdeva congratulated Prof. Ved Ghai and also appreciated the J&K Cultural Academy and Radio Kashmir, Jammu for starting JHAROKHA, a series of interaction and felicitating programme through which the prominent personalities in the field of literature, culture, visual and performing arts and folk performers will be provided the platform where the common folk of Jammu and art lovers will be enlightened about the life and works of legends of the soil. Earlier, delivering welcome address, V.K Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu said that Radio Kashmir, Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages have decided to organize JHAROKHA, a regular activity on 4th of every month to introduce the eminent personalities and also to provide space where our young generation can interact directly to know about the rich heritage, literature and art of the region. Dr. Om Goswami,a prominent Dogri and Hindi writer, scholar and intellectual presented a detailed paper on the life and works of Dr. Ved Ghai which was highly appreciated. Dr. Ved Ghai, prominent Scholar, writer and social activist while interacting with the audience shared her experiences and contribution in the field of literature and linguistics of Sanskrit, Hindi and Dogri Languages. She said that it is because of her parents and Gurus that today she is in the position to contribute in the field of literature at global level and is also able to work for the upliftment of slum area and down trodden section of the society. She also thanked Radio Kashmir Jammu and J&K Cultural Academy for organizing such a memorable programme in her honor. Among others who were present included Prof. Rita Jitendra, Prof Nirmal Vinod, Prof Lalit Gupta, Prof. Champa Sharma, Prof. Ram Partab Singh, Khalid Hussain, Prof Kidar Nath Sharma, TS Premi, Brij Mohan, Prof Sushma Sharma, Chand Deepika and Prof Raj Kumar. |
