J&K forest deptt to sell timber online | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23: Online system is to be adopted for sale of timber in the state, so that people get the requisite sanctioned within the shortest possible time. This was disclosed by the Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Bali Bhagat while replying to a question by Sofi Yousuf in Legislative Council Monday. The Minister said that the Forest department supplies timber to the concessionists falls in A, B and C zone including Municipal Council and Municipal Committee areas. He said in far-flung areas timber is supplied to needy people directly through Notices of Forest department. Besides, Jammu and Kashmir State Forest Corporation also supplies timber to sale depots falling in "C" zone areas. Bhagat said that only dry standing or naturally fallen trees can be extracted from Forests as per order of Supreme Court, which is sanctioned in favour of the needy persons. Besides Sofi Yousuf, Firdous Ahmed Tak, Yasir Reshi, Haji Anayat Ali, Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Jahangir Hussain Mir, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Jugal Kishore and Ghulam Qadir Pardesi raised supplementary questions. Meanwhile, Minister for Technical Education and Youth, Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari, said that 18 new Polytechnics have been established in uncovered districts of the State. The Minister was replying to a question by Vibodh Gupta in Legislative Council today. Ansari said that under centrally sponsored schemes "submission on Polytechnics under coordinated action for Skill Development" and polytechnic for district Rajouri was sanctioned to the established in the campus of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) for the reason that the University will provide land for Polytechnic Institute free of cost in the campus. The Minister said the University running full fledged Engineering College shall allow the students of the Polytechnic institute to avail the workshop facilities till the same are made available in the institute. He said the University will offer the services of its well qualified and experienced faculty for teaching in the Polytechnic Institute till such times the posts for polytechnic institute are created by the government. Minister further added that the University shall provide the Hostel facilities for the students of the Polytechnic Institute till such time the Hostel buildings are constructed. Ansari said that as per the Memo of Understating (MoU) signed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and BGSBU, Rajouri, the intake capacity in each course is restricted to 60 seats, out of which 40 seats have to be filled by government and 20 payment seats through the University by its own selection process. With regard to the admission of the students in the University, the Minister said that the issue of admission under government quota through BOPEE has been linked by the University with the creation of teaching and non-teaching posts and transfer thereof together with the salary component in favour of the University. Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, Abdul Majid Padder said there are 9 filtration plants in Wachi Constituency, out of which 7 are functional. Minister was replying to a question raised by Showkat Hussain Ganai in the Legislative Council today. Minister said that the plants which were damaged due to devastating flood of September, 2014 will be restored within 3 months. He further said that in order to augment the supplies of village Gundidarvesh Bandpawa, Ardkhar a fresh DPR namely Gundidarvesh Water supply scheme stands formulated. |
