SVO registered 215 cases, 157 pending

Jammu, Mar 23: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO) has registered 215 cases against corrupt officials, out of which 4 cases were referred to the government for sanction, 38 cases are under legal secrutiny,2 cases are closed as not proved, one case is closed by SVO for RDA and 6 cases are pending with the State Vigilance Commission in compliance to the rule 24(1) of J&K State Vigilance Commission Rules, 2013.
The accused persons , as per the half yearly reports (July-Dec 2014), submitted by the Vigilance Organization to state government, include Vinod Koul son of B K Koul of Shastri Nagar, then Project Manager, Expert Oriented Handloom Development Corporation, Samba, presently working as Assistant General Manager J&K HDC, Jammu, Sanjay Gupta s/o Dharam Paul Gupta of ward No 4,Kathua,then Extension Officer (EOHDC),Samba presently posted as Accountant in Pollution Control Board, Madan Lal s/o Chaman Lal r/oPamposh Colony, Jammu, Storekeeper, (EOHDC),Samba and Daleep Taploo son of Dina Nath Taploo of Sangtra Morh, Paunichak, Jammu,then Incharge Processing (EOHDC),Samba presently posted Extension Officer, Processing Samba. They were booked under FIR No 22/2014-VOJ on the allegations of auction of scrap on lower rates in 2007.
Dr Hemala Aggarwal,the then Principal Commerce College and Jagdish Kumar, Jr Assistant the then storekeeper in SPMR College of Commerce were booked in connection with FIR No 23/2014-VOJ on the allegations of purchase of software on exorbitant rates.
Surinder Kumar then Patwari Manda,now Naib Tehsildhar Mera Madrian Akhnoor,Rita Devi w/o Dwarka Nath,Dwarka Nath son of Mali Ram, Jagdish Kumar, Ankushi w/o Jagdish Kumar, Rajinder Kumar s/o Ganesh Dass r/o Akhnoor and other officers of revenue. They were booked under FIR No 24/2014-VOJ for allegedly misusing their official position.
Persons namely Inderpal Singh s/o Ganga Singh r/o Nanak Nagar Jammu,Sr Assistant working as cashier in Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar,Jammu was booked under FIR No 26/2014-VOJ by abusing of his official position embezzled amount of Rs 8.34 lakh from the hospital development fund of Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Chuni Lal s/o Mansa r/o Ram Nagar,range officer, Social Forestry, Sukhdev Raj Sumberia s/o Sadha Ram r/o Village Katli,Soil Conservation Assistant, Agriculture Department,Sukhdev Raj Sumberia s/o Sadha Ram of village Katli,Soil Conservation Assistant, Agriculture Department, Subash Kumar s/o Daya Ram r/o New Main Bazar Udhampur,Block Officer, Social Forestry, Shanker Singh s/o Room Singh r/o Kither Udhampur, helper Social Forestry Water Shed Development Committee, Madha Chenani Udhampur, Parkash Singh, Chairman, Water Shed Development Committee, Madha-1 Chenani, Romesh Chander, Secretary, Water Shed Development Committee, Chenani. They were booked under FIR No 29/2014-VOJ for allegedly misappropriation of money an amount of Rs 63.250 lakh.
Tarseem Lal s/o Kartar Chand r/o Digiana, Jammu Chief Education Officer and others were booked under FIR No 30/2014-VOJ for alleged bungling in selection of Class-IV employees in Education Department.
Deepak Pathania, Inspector, SHO P/S Ramnagar was booked under FIR No 31/2014-VOJ for allegedly accepting of Rs 1.50 lakh as illegal gratification for release of three innocent persons in case FIR No 60/2014. K K Arora, the then Chief Engineer PWD ,Jammu and others booked under FIR No 33/2014-VOJ regarding collapse of 17 pillars of Devak Span Bridge at Utter Behni.
Khalid Hussain, ZEO, Boniyar,Sajad Hussain, warden KGBV Boniyar and Mehraj ud-Din Ahanger, Head Clerk of ZEO Office, Boniyar booked under FIR No 29/2014-VOJ for misappropriation of Govt money to the tune of Rs 25,28,445 released under SSA Scheme during financial year 2013-14,meant for expenditure on account of purchase of Unfiforms, shoes, socks, books, stationery, medicines, busfare, excursion, computers and other necessary infrastructural activities in Kasturba Gandhi Balik Vidiyalaya . Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din s/o Ghulam Mohd r/o Gulabgarh, A/P House No 19,Sector 2,Pamposh Colony Channi Rama, Jammu, storekeeper CAPD Mohore. Meanwhile,4 cases have been referred to govt for accord of sanction for prosecution. The alleged accused have been listed as Mohammad Elyas Kripak s/o Khwaja Mhd r/o Doda, then Resident Manager, JKSIDCO, New Delhi, lodged under FIR No 11/2007-VOJ, Suresh Kumar Sharma s/o Yogeshwar Bhagat r/o Gandhi Nagar then I/C Executive Engineer, Akash Bhola s/ O P Bholar of Trikuata Nagar then AE, Virender Singh Wazir s/o Onkar Singh of Channi Himmat Colony,then JE PWD and Karam Chand, pvt contractor, all lodged under FIR No 11/2012 -VOJ, Mohd Iabal Girdwar Darhal of Rajouri lodged FIR No 2/2013-VOJ and Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie Head Assistant and Bashir Ahmed Jr Assistant Municipal Corporation Shangus.
Vigilance has also closed two cases as not proved. The alleged accused were Ghulam Ahmad Khawaja (IAS) and Vinod Koul,then Commissioner Relief (Migrants), Jammu.
