Vigilance registers 15 PEs between July-Dec 2014

Jammu, Mar 23: Vigilance Organization (VO) has registered 15 Preliminary Enquires (PEs) all under probe between July-December 2014 as per the Half Yearly Report tabled by government today in Jammu and Kashmir assembly.
As per the report, among the suspects who are facing allegations are Deewakar Singh, then SDPO, and Sham Lal, then Tehsildar, RS Pura who are facing allegations of misuse of official position by implicating the applicant in false case. The second in the list is a teacher of Government Girls High School Top Sherkhania namely Meenu Sharma who is facing allegation on disproportion assets, Satish Kumar Mujoo, resident of H. No 52, Subash Nagar, Jammu who is facing allegation of illegal withdrawl of relief money.
Other known name in the list are Tehseen Mustafa, CEO Era and Mehboob Iqbal both facing allegations on account of misappropriation of assets, AR Mughal, then Divisional Manager, State Forest Corp, Division Bhaderwah alleged of drawl of fraudulent payment of Rs. 1.20 lac, Manish Agarwal, then Deputy SP Ramnagar and others alleged of demand and acceptance of bribe of Rs. 2, 20,000 for releasing of son.
Others in the vigilance net are Babu Ram, Sr. Assistant, ZEO office, Doongi in Rajouri district facing allegations on disproportion assets, Exen, Mechanical Irrigation Construction Division, Wazir Bagh, Srinagar facing allegations of purchasing of meters at exorbitant rates, Dr. Vinod V/S officers/officials of Nazool land organization Srinagar facing misuse of official position by changing the mutation of stand lands, Farooq Ahmed Renzu, then Commissioner, SMC, Srinagar facing allegations on disproportion assets.
"Secretary, Vanaspati Van Society of Forest Department, alleged of embezzlement of Rs. 6.00 Crores, Showkat Ahmed Zargar, Ward officers, Ward number 32, SMC, Srinagar alleged of illegal construction without leaving fire gap, Rakesh Kumar, AEE and Syed Ajaz, JE, PHE M&P Sub Division 1 JMT, Srinagar alleged of misappropriation of government money on the pretext of repairs of the vehicle, Collector land Acquistion, National Highway, Awantipora, Pulwama alleged of tempering of official records for giving compensation to undeserving persons, and Mohammad Ashraf Piswal, working as clerk in Education Zone, Block Tangdhar are among other suspected in the vigilance net", reads the report.
Further 32 Preliminary Enquiries were pending enquiry as on 30.06.2014 and 15 PE's were received during July 2014 to December 2014 thus making the total of 47 PE's with the Vigilance Organization out of which 03 PE's were sent for registration of FIR, 1 for departmental action and 02 PE's closed as not approved. Hence it concludes that a total of 6 PE's have been disposed off and 41 PE's are pending disposal as on 31.12.2014 respectively.
