Jammu, Mar 23: The Department of Tourism and Travel Management (TTM) of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Tourism Studies (TS) of the Central University of Kashmir here at the Temporary Academic Block of the Central University of Jammu. According to press release, the purpose of MoU is to promote mutual cooperation in educational and research activities and to establish a framework for programmes of exchange and collaboration in areas of interest for mutual benefit. Under the MoU, The Department of TTM, CUJ and the Department of TS, CUK agree to cooperate and collaborate in inter-departmental visits of the research scholars and students for their wider academic understanding and exposure. Besides, there will be exchange of faculty during winter and summer vacations, formulation of joint & collaborative research and consultancy projects in the thrust areas of tourism, and joint organization of conferences/ workshops/seminars/symposia, etc. The MoU was signed between the Vice Chancellors of Central University of Jammu, Prof. Devanand and Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Mehraj Ud Din Mir. Another copy of the MoU was signed by Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Acadmic Administrator, Dean, School of Business Studies and Head, TTM, CUJ and Prof. Syed Fayyaz Ahmed, Head, TS, CUK. Prof. Gupta assured the Department of TS, CUK for full support and cooperation in strengthening the academic, research and industry network for the benefits of students of both the Universities. Others who were present on the occasion were Jit Singh, Registrar, CUJ, Dr. P.S. Pathania, Senior Consultant, CUJ, Prof. Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator, CUJ, Prof. N.R. Sharma, Dean, Students Welfare, Prof. H.S. Sehgal, Nodal Officer Centre for Communication and Linkages, and Dean, School of Life Sciences and Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, and heads of various departments of the CUJ, Prof. Ashok Aima, Head, Department of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour, Prof. R.L. Bhatt, Head, Department of Economics, CUJ and others.
