Jammu, June 29: NABARD sponsored Farmer club visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra Rajouri for sharing their experience and also to discuss their field problems with scientists. About 20 progressive farmers of "Farmer's Ekta Club" Bhajwal, Sunderbani attended the meet. Des Raj, DGM, NABARD Rajouri inaugurating the event, introduced the members of club to the scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri and motivated them to discuss in detail their field problems. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vikas Tandon, Programme Coordinator of KVK welcomed the farmers to KVK and congratulated them for formulating Kisan Club. He also applauded the role of NABARD in assisting the farmers in formulating the club. He reiterated that KVK Rajouri was also instrumental in formation of this club which has predominantly vegetable growers. Later farmers, mostly vegetable growers from Bhajwal area discussed in detail the problems of insect pests and diseases in their crops. Addressing their problems, Dr. Arvind Kumar Ishar SMS of KVK suggested the remedial measures on the spot and motivated the farmers to adopt organic farming for the benefit of consumers. He also proposed to lay Front Line Demonstration on Pheromone Traps and other organic products. Farmers of the club overwhelmingly accepted their proposal and welcomed the team of KVK to lay demonstration in their area. |
