Jammu, June 29: A tainted Professor, who was earlier close to power corridors during Congress-National Conference regime, has reportedly been lobbying hard to get a prime posting in a college of Jammu city.
Sources in the civil secretariat informed Early Times that the tainted Professor, who was appointed as Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education in October 2014 by Omar led coalition regime and already has been facing court cases for his involvement in several cases of corruption, has reportedly intruded into power corridors.
"In the last few days, the controversial professor had met Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi and has also getting help of a senior level police officer, to get deal settled with Education Minister Naem Akhtar", sources said.
They further informed that after getting assurance from a senior level police officer, who happened to be batch-mate of Professor's brother, the professor, has been spreading a word, that he would surely get the post of nodal Principal Government Gandhi Memorial Science College Jammu.
The sources further said that the professor, was already litigating against the state government in High Court. "This professor is also facing several contempt cases, for taking a decision in violation of High Court orders", sources informed.
After the professor was appointed as Chairman of JKBOSE, sources said, the appointment was challenged in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), in response of which Division Bench of State High Court, headed by the then Chief Justice, MM Kumar had held the appointment bad in view of the pendency of departmental enquiries against him.
Sources also said that the order of division bench of High Court was also challenged by this professor in Supreme Court of India, but when state government had brought the true facts before Supreme Court, the SLP filed by Professor was dismissed by SC.
Sources further said that in the meantime, the enquire officer had also established charges against delinquent professor, following which a show cause notice was issued by Higher Education department to professor.
"Against the show cause notice of Higher Education department, Professor has already filed a writ petition in High Court, which is still sub-judice", sources said.
Sources in power corridors informed that despite having closeness to previous government, the Professor has succeed to intrude into power corridors, by using his political connections and was so confident that he has reportedly been telling his close ones, that soon he would be appointed as nodal Principal GGM Science college. |
