JAMMU, June 29: The J&K Integration & Public Relation Society organised a function to felicitate Public Relation Officers of different organizations, here today.
Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi was chief guest while Senior Leader Yudhvir Sethi was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Chairman Citizen Cooperative Bank presided over the function. The society organized the event to deliberate upon the topic of 'Role of PR in developing Societal Behavior' and to honour the contribution of eminent PROs.
Appreciating efforts of the society, Priya Sethi said Public Relations is an integral part of any organization and a successful PRO is one who acts as bridge between any department and the stakeholders. She said a Public Relation officer aims at to create a credible link between organizational goals and societal expectations.
She lauded the role of J&K Integration & PR Society in providing a platform to the PROs for sharing their experiences besides promoting research and study in the field of Public relations.
"I welcome the initiatives taken by the PR Society for promoting research and professionalism in the field of Public Relations and by recognizing PROs of different organisations the society has recognized the contribution of Public Relations as a discipline," she added.
The PROs who were lauded on the occasion include, S. Narinder Singh former Director, Information & Public Relations, O.P. Sharma Veteran Journalist, Anil Sharma PRO The J&K Bank, Vinay Thussu, PRO University of Jammu, and Rajan Badyal PRO SMVDU, Katra.
While addressing the gathering, Yudhvir highlighted the role of PROs in promoting the activities of an organisation and stressed upon sharing experiences among the officers who practice public relations. He said positive image building and creating bridges of trust is main objective of a PRO.
Dinesh Gupta appreciated the efforts put in by the society and congratulated the PROs who were honoured on the occasion.
In his welcome address, Anil K Padha briefed about the objectives of the society and the role the society intends to play in promoting exchange of ideas among the PR practitioners.
Vipan Sharma Treasurer of the society organised the event and Ravi Kant Sharma from Radio Kashmir Jammu conducted the function.
Prominent citizens, Officers of J&K Bank, Cooperative Bank, Jammu University, Journalists and members of the society attended the event. |
