Chevrolet Cup: KCSC, NCCC win ties | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 29 : The KC Sports Club (KCSC) and New Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) emerged winners in two different league matches played today in the Chevrolet Cricket Cup underway at KC Public School ground, here. In the first match of group-B, KCSC defeated Whites Cricket Club (WCC) by 34 runs. Batting first, KCSC set a target of 158 runs, which, in reply, WCC could not chase and bundled out for 123 runs in 17 overs. Pranav played fine innings of half century making 53 runs while Surgal contributed 35. From WCC, Sonu and Rahal shared three wickets each. Later, WCC bowled out for 123 runs in 17 overs. Rajesh remained top scorer with 20 runs and Sanjay made 21. Bablu took three wickets from KCSC while Karan Bhat bagged two. For his half century, Pranav was adjudged man of the match. Sadiq Hussain Malik, Bunty Kumar and Honey Chib officiated this match. In another scheduled league match of the day, NCCC registered a humiliating seven wickets win against Striker Cricket Club to strengthen their position in group-C. Earlier, Striker won the toss and decided to bat first made 97 runs in 19 over losing all the wickets. Jagandeep and Jimmy top scored with 23 and 13 runs respectively. Deepak Manhas and Ashu were most successful bowlers, who shared two wickets each. In reply, NCCC chased the 98 runs target in 10.1 overs losing three wickets. Ashu scored highest 40 runs and Deepak contributed 30. Ashu was later named man of the match. Rajinder Singh, Abhijot Singh and Honey Chib conducted this match. |
