UDHAMPUR, July 31: On the directions of District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, the team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Udhampur headed by Assistant Controller, LMD, Jaideep Singh Sambyal conducted surprise checking at Udhampur market and booked 03 erring traders on spot for violation of various provisions of weights and measures and package commodity rules.
Further, the team booked a cattle feed outlet for weighing 600 gm less in quantity on 40 kg bag.
Later, the team booked a sweet shop for delivering 100 gm less quantity per kg sweets and also including the weight of box in the delivery of the sweets.
During the surprise visit Inspector LMD issued seizure memos to the erring traders for further action under rule.
Further, the Department has warned the traders to use only verified standard weight and measures and not to use unfair trade practices to cheat the innocent consumers. |
